Default 1999 911 Cruise Control Not Working

Hi, My cruise control is not working. The light on the dash will light up but it will not hold the desired speed. It's a 1999 911 Automatic. Any suggestions on what may be wrong?
Thanks
Randy

Cool

Randy,
Have to ask... once you push the button in and the green light comes on, do you then push that lever forward to set the speed? Simply pushing the button on the end won't set the speed - it just turns on the speed control system.

If the answer is "yes", then do a little more searching on this thread because we just when through all the things to check for another owner within the last month. Should be easy to find.

Also, read through your owners manual on this. It explains what other speed functions the lever performs (speed up, slow down, cancel, etc.).

If I have been too basic, please don't feel insulted.

I know you have an AT.. My switch on my cluch had the wire torn. Maybe you have one on the brake? and the switch is loose? Ran into the same thing on a boxter the other day.

Thunder, thanks for the reply Yes I am pushing the paddle forward to set the desired speed. Could it be something as simple as a bad brake switch?
Thanks

All, ALL, rear brake light must be INCANDESCENT and OPERATIONAL, and OFF with no pressure on the gas pedal.
