Hi, going through the same thing right now, hit an Elk in Oregon on the way home from Rennsport, I live in Canada and the price of parts is insane from the dealers here, I ordered the parts from Sunset in Oregon and saved over 800.00 ( needed a headlight and hood ). The money I save will go towards the repair, over and above what insurance will pay in order to get the best posssible result, as the insurance companies will do the least possible to repair your car, see if you can get a better deal on parts and work with your body shop. I will charge my shop what they would have paid by going through their regular channels for parts and the rest goes to the extras needed to really get this done right. As to the devaluation of the car that is inevitable, but can be minimized by showing that all new parts were used, have bills and pics to show what was done, don't allow repairs unless they are minor, any bondo will show a poor repair and reduce the value further. good luck.
George
