Default Added PSE to my 997.2 ...............

About a month ago I removed the center muffler from my 997.2 and installed the Sharkwerks by-pass pipes in its place. The exhaust sound was louder and deeper.

This week I ordered the PSE mufflers from Suncoast Porsche and had them shipped to my local dealer so they could install the PSE. I picked up the car Thursday afternoon. The sound of the PSE, coupled with the Sharkwerks pipes, is a great combination, resulting in an awesome sound. I do not have a sound clip but here are a few pics of the tail pipes.

I knew it wouldn't take you long before your mod list began Tim. Looks nice, but I'd love to hear 'that' sound.

OK, here is a sound clip from Sharkwerks after they installed the Sharkwerks pipes (to replace the center muffler) on a GTS. This clip gives sound bites for both the quiet and loud modes.

Nice - sounds great in the low rpm range and really sings in the high end!

PSE (or any performance exhaust for that matter) is probably one of the best upgrades in making your Porsche feel like a proper sports car. The cars are too quiet in stock configuration.

In LOUD mode, cabin noise is louder when you get on it, but almost the same as quiet when cruising on the highway speeds at 3,000 or lower RPMs.

If it gets too loud, you can always turn it off with the press of a button!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot....... as for trading your 996 for a 997.2.....the 997.2 is AWESOME! Power, torque, upgraded suspension which gives excellent front end stability at higher highway speeds (or so I have been told). Do it. DO IT!!!

The 997.2 engines just don't do it for me like the 997.1 engines with PSE.

Dan,

I like the 997.1 PSE exhaust sound too. The center muffler on the 997.2 cars really kills the exhaust sound.

Have you heard a 997.2 with PSE AND without the center muffler? Eliminating the center muffler on the 997.2 really made a big difference in sound. Then adding PSE really completed and enhanced the sound package.

No--I haven't heard a 997.2 without the central muffler. I hope it gets back some of it's visceral sound!
