Removed CDR220, now horn honks once when I lock doors.
As the topic states, I just removed the CDR220 to put in an Pioneer AVIC nav system I had.
Everything is working perfectly as far as the AVIC is concerned, however I now get honked at once when I lock the doors with the key remote.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the CDR220 being removed, does anyone know if there is something simple like a wire that needs to be jumped on the CDR220 power harness?
Thanks in advance!

This was sent to me from Loren on Renntech.org:
"Look for a Brown/Blue wire from the original radio connector and remove the pin and tape it (or cut and tape the wire)".
I replaced my unit with an Alpine and had the same issue.

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I'm not fully understanding.
The 2 connectors (cd changer had been removed already), one is the speakers (yellow) and the other is the I believe 8 (10?) pin wide connector (blue?).
Off hand can you recall if its off the speaker connector or the power connector?
If I'm understanding correctly, it sounds as though I need to make sure the Brown/Blue wire is not connected to anything, is that the goal?

There is a little single brown/blue wire all by itself that is normally connected to the stereo frame on the side.
It is all by itself on the left (drivers side) and not apart of any of the connectors that go into the back of the CDR220.
And yes, you need to make sure that wire is not grounded on the stereo frame or anywhere else for that matter, just hanging out by itself with some electrical tape around the connector.

Oh ok, I'll take a look, mine is a 2001, so I'm not sure if that qualifies as "later" cars or not.
Going to check the schematics too.
Edit: Checked 99/00 schematics and it shows exactly as you describe above.
Going to try and see if 01 schematics are available...

I have the same issue! So, if I pull the stereo out, there should be a brown/blue wire connected where? Inside the frame, or between the inner dash and the outside of the frame? Anyone have a photo - I need visual assistance.

This brown/blue wire is either by itself connected to the frame on the left side or is inside one of the connectors in the rear of the unit.
Brown/Blue needs to be removed and taped.

Curious, does anyone know if this hampers the alarm in any functionality or is it just an annoyance?
I ask because I'm finding that I'm walking away from the car and can't hear the door locks sometimes, and the horn honking at me once is a good (albeit annoying) reminder that I've actually activated the locks.

The alarm still functions, yes.
There are other ways to get a beep though...
You can press the lock button twice, and it will auto lock the doors and honk, but disable occupant motion detection.
If you have a cab search for SmartTop and RemoteTop.
You can also leave the oddments tray sensor open.
