Bought my 996 about a month ago. Has a killer Kenwood audio/video system with navigation, however, only 1 speaker has worked since I got it. Nice big amp instlled in trunk and when investigating, a wire fell right out of it's connector. Also noticed a couple other wires were disconnected and just laying there.
So after that I had no sound at all. Lived with that for a week and figured Id take another look. Amp is bolted in vertically and I can't see the terminal labels but attempted to hook the one back up as I "thought" I knew where it came from.
Bad idea! I left a video playing so I could hear when the sound came back but when I attached the wire, I got a quick led light on the amp, then nothing.

Back inside, the stereo was dead and now the car wont start. All warning lights, headlights, dashlights windows work. I hear the clutch switch click. Just nothing when I try to start.

So, after reading several similar threads, I know what I need to look for:
Clutch micro switch, check battery, ignition switch, fuses....

Simplest would be to check the fuses but I don't have the diagram! Not on back of panel lid, nor is there a paper guide in the panel.

Anyone have the fuse diagram for a 2002 996? I've found other model years but not sure how close they are to mine.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Why don't you just start pulling fuses and look for the one that is toast?

It was a fuse!

Thanks for the diagrams guys! Seems the 99/00 and 2003 fuse layouts are the same so should be a match for my 2002.

Anyway - it was Fuse 1, Row E.
