Compare my old rotors and pads with new rotor. What a dramatic improvement for my 99' Porsche. Blurry phone pics, sorry.

Sweet!
The bast part about a brake job is the burning smelling of pad compound bedding it in after your done.
Congrats Steve! How long did it take you per corner?

Good job Steve! Did you measure the rotor thickness from old to new? Just wondering how far gone they were.

Chao- about 45 minutes per corner.

Pete- The rotors had a pronounced lip on the outer edge so I figured it was time, but I didn't measure the thickness.

Look closely at the 'chunk' of pad material on the rotors, that was a reason to change out with new.

wtg Steve

one of the easiest jobs and the more rewarding feeling - I really like working on brakes! (well...like is such a strong word...but you know, if you have to work on one system...its a pretty simple one to work on)

You bet Ed. The grinding sound and pedal feel was not right. Now the brakes are quiet and very smoothe.

From AutohausAZ I purchased Textar pads, claimed to be OEM compound. Also got the Zimmerman rotors there and I really like the quality. Huge improvement over the 56k miles on the OEM rotors.
