GT3 seat install - what the hell is under my OEM seats - SOLVED memory seat module
Ok I am removing my seats to install some gt3 euro seats.
I have read tons of posts but I have never seen before what is under my seats ...
1/ under the driver seat, I have a HUGE electronic box... what is that ? and how do I deal with this on my gt3 euro seat ? do I have to retrofit the box under my euro gt3 seats ? I bet I do ... and why I have never seen this in previous posts ?
2/ I have a weird female seat belt plug thingy under my passenger seats. Can I go without putting it back ? I don't see the use of this thing
For info I do have the option on my car of the "lowered -10mm seats" May be that explain why the box is fixed on the seats instead of being on the floor..

if you look at your sets, you will see that there is a nice plastic cover in front of the module. When i bought the car, I thought "cool there is a little drawer there"... but no the cover would not slide
I have to admit that most gt3 euro seats install I saw were on the gt3 forum where obviously they don't have to worry about the memory seats, as they all come with manual rails.
That would explain it Marc.
If anybody could confirm that would be great, but I will certainly try to unplug the whole thing tomorrow.
Anyone want to guess about the sealt belt plug under the passenger seat especially If I can toss it or not...
Phil.

Did you look at this? https://rennlist.com/forums/996-1998...stall-diy.html
Do you have sliders? And the side mount brackets? You just need to un-hook the electrical connectors, the seat belt receptacles (because you re-use those). Everything else stays intact on the seats you are removing. You won't have memory seat function anymore.

yes I had seen the gt3 euro seat install, this is the best DIY around

But I was just surprised by my two additional parts that are not covered in the DIY.
I think I know what to do next for the driver 'memory seat model', still unsure about the female seat belt receptacle under my passenger seat.

That module is on my stock memory and heated seats as well. You have to unplug a wire from it which I believe goes to the memory seat controls in the door sill. You won't plug it back in to anything.
It's useful to take the whole module off (takes two torx screws) to uninstall the wire and then screw the module back on. If I remember correctly there are some wires that go between that module and some stuff in the seats like the motors and heaters.
