Model years 2001 up to 2005. (Oh, the document I have is dated Nov 5. 2008.)

First a notice: "Use of unapproved ATF or transmission oil: Excessive wear and damage to the transmission parts. Reduced service life. => Only use the ATF and transmission oils listed below when topping up or changing ATF or transmission oil."

Transmission oil SAE 75w-90 for manual transmission, front axle drive (all wheel drive).

000.043.204.20 Mobil (Mobilube PTX).
000.043.204.19 Shell (Transaxle)
999.917.546.00 Shell (Transaxle)

The two Shell fluids are the same fluid they have different part numbers because they come in different size containers: 20 liters and 1 liter is my info.

The Turbo factory manual doesn't give a fluid temp or drain time for the manual transmission fluid change but my WAG is if the fluid is hot then 20 minutes ought to be enough.

But if at the end of 20 minutes you see a stream of transmission oil still flowing let the transmission oil drain longer.

The concern is to drain as much oil out to get very close to the 3 liter refill amount so when one dumps in 3 liters of transmssion fluid the transmission doesn't end up overfilled with transmission fluid.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Macster,

I noticed it is recommended to use the mobilube PTX. but my indy is saying they use the Mobil 75W90 LS.

Does anyone know if the LS is acceptable?

Not sure what you are asking, but I won't use any of the above.

I narrowed it down to Mobil (Mobilube 75W90 PTX) and Mobile 75W90 LS.

Not it is not acceptable. That is junk. Use either the factory stuff from the dealer or Mobil Delvac 75W-90 (LINK).

That's complete BS. I bought a 20L drum for about $400 shipped to my house from Suncoast Porsche. I can also buy it by the liter if I bring in a container to my dealer and they just charge me 1/20 the cost of the drum per liter I buy.

Winner winner chicken dinner! I use nothing but Delvac in my cars and have been for years (Turbo, GT3, Spec Boxster, etc, etc, etc).
