Default Dension Gateway w/PCM 2

I've been reading up on the Dension Gateway and was getting ready to order one until caught a footnote in their docs. "For BTA1500 use the head unit must have a phone button". I looked, my unit doesn't have a phone button.

Were there different PCM 2 head units? My car is a 40AE so it has option M680 in it (Y 01 digital sound package MY 02- sound system Bose analog)...is that what changed the head unit?

I really want to keep the stock look so I don't want to swap out the head unit. :-(

I think you car needed to be equipped with the hands free phone option when new. My 04 has the PCM2, but no phone button.

Mine's too loud for handsfree though. I use a Bluetooth earbud with noise canceling which works well.

FWIW, the Dension/PCM2 works great with the iPod though.
