I can do it. I have the logistics at my disposal. With GE in town shipping RR train engines every where I can make it happen. Its not going to be cheap. PM me. I will get you a price on a trans and the shipping.

Do you want rebuilt or do you want used?

What year / model of 996 is it? Why do you feel the tranny is about to go? Has your mechanic told you this is the problem?

If it is a ZF, then it is possible that you could be having problems, these are considered less reliable. But, if it is the Merc 722.6 you have (likely if you have a 2003 or newer), the transmission is considered pretty much bulletproof.

Whenever i blast off the lights, I sometimes do feel a slight jerk. It feels like a wheel slip in that sense but it is not.

I drive a year 2000 porker which i think is the one that is less reliable.

I had that issue in another car and it was due to low fluid but there could just be a spring in the valve body (if I recall correctly) that needs to be replaced.

This is interesting - can you elaborate? Is replacing this spring a massive "guts open" job, or is it relatively straightforward (i.e. can it be done with the transmission still on the car?)
