I have had my C4s for over 2 years now and live up in the great white north. I have a g37x sedan, a Tundra quad cab, and Edge etc. All intended for daily and winter use, but for some reason I can never seem to put the porsche away. sometime clearance can be an issue (3 days a year) and its AWD makes it much more controllable and easy to drive than any other vehicle I own.

When I lived in NY and NJ I had a winter vehicle. Believe it or not it was a 92 Geo Storm!!!
It was actually in good condition and I liked the fact that I could park it anywhere in Manhattan and not care a bit about it.
When I moved to Charlotte in 2004 I went to a Porsche-only mode since this city shuts down when it snows and I can always use my wife's SUV if I really have to go anywhere. Plus I have the option of working from home so a winter vehicle is just not needed here.

2010 Ford Escape. Too much sand/salt and bad drivers up here for our 5ish months of "winter"... plus with no traction/stability control, I think the C2 would be a handful.

I keep mine parked when show is on the ground. I have a Dodge Durango 5.9 R/T for winter use, and the wife has an Audi A6 Quattro. The sand and gravel they lay on the ground here for traction will tear a windshield and paint up!!!

what an idiot - my most sincere appology. computers and typing are not my forte. i hope this does not wreck my time here.
if you are still listening, i see you use the 11 inch wide wheels in the rear with the 265 tires. it does not stretch them too much?

Drive the Mercedes ML 320 during the winter. This is our second one. Seems like a lot of people have problems with this model but for us it has been solid. Really great for those days when the snow is crazy.

hi zookie,
thanks for reply, i was not sure...
so you are running the
front 18 x 8 with 225/40-18
rear 18 x 11 with 265/35-18
configuration with no trouble. great news. a friend at work has the same setup with knockoff gt3 wheels (not my favorite as i like turbo twist or bbs) but for winter it will work. i will see if he is willing to sell them for a reasonable price.
best,
vange
