my daily driver is a 1989 190e 2.6l and i love it!

 

10-15 years ago a 190SL was an easy buy--their rise in popularity has been stunning. I shouldn't be surprised as it has the style of the priceless 300SL.

 

The 50s 190SL and 300SL are some of the most beautiful exterior designs - on par with same era Ferrari Barchettas and Porsche Spyders.

 

Nice. The most fun Mercedes I've owned is a homologation version 190e with the 16 valve Cosworth engine and Getrag dogleg 5 speed tranny - similar to what Ayrton Senna drove at some PR race in the 80s and what were raced against E30 M3s in DTM racing. In fact, this is the car I bought right after I sold my 996 to Ed. Fun revvy engine. Kinda wish I had access to drive it once in awhile. Hmmm. Maybe I'll give the current owner a call...

You posted this photo in one of my threads, and now after picking up a new Benz I'm back looking again at old Benz's...... The slopes we walk on....

 

An older Benz can complement your early 911. Maybe I'll go the other way and look at early 911s again. Certain cars just get into your blood...

I'm relatitvely new here but I have to say I love the "vibe" of the forum. I've been on many "specialty" forums where even long time posters get vilified for changing brands. It's nice to see the congratultaions come out.

I am seriously not letting this one go...I cant imagine a better car. If I could I would buy an older one but those are really really tough to daily drive...newer? 964 why? 993, love em...too expensive, 996-7 not really unless it was a gt3..box or cay..i dont think so uunless really cheap and I could gut the sucka for a lightweight track toy - nah, the 3.2 is pretty great and really fits my wants and desires. not saying I wouldnt want or dont like the others, just pretty happy with this and the repairs are reasonable so far...
