Default Are these the right steps to install

Hey all,

So I want to give my 2000 C4 a more aggressive look and I'm thinking about installing an Aerokit - like this one or something similar - the GTR kit:

http://www.fiberwerks.com/996_front_bumpers.htm

First question, you buy this and the send it unpainted, can I simply take it to a good body-shop and get it painted to match?

Second, once painted, am I crazy to think I can install it myself? I love a good challenge, but if install is beyond the "average" car guy, I'll get it installed professionally.

And finally, if this should all be done professionally, do you have any recommendations in the Chicago area?

Thanks - as always,
JG

A local body shop quoted $175 to refinish and repaint one aero rocker panel for me. I asked if I should bring it on the car or remove it and just bring in the piece. They didn't care... which suggests that the r&i labor is small in their view--compared to prep and paint.

I cant tell you the answer but I can say doing it wrong is easier than doing it right. I see a lot of cars and I can be pretty picky about paint...It bothers the hell out of me how easy it is to see paint work and if I spent the money and it looked like some of them do I would be way past pissed!

I did not read the entire site, but does it come with installation instructions?
I am sure if they were made to fit you should be fine OR ask how much to install? Then you avoid headaches down the road

Thanks for the info. Sounds pretty easy-ish.... At least the process. The actual work, we'll see.

Any way, has anyone had experience with this company NR Auto?
