Default Key FOB

Hi guys,

Lost my spare Key FOB recently. Good thing is that the transmitter was not working.

My question is, would it be possible if i bought a new FOB from the USA and reprogramme it in singapore for my use?

I called my local dealer and they said that the transmitter from the USA had a different frequency setting which would not work in singapore? Is this true?

Cheers

Just looking at the various decoded VIN numbers I've seen that they're using different frequencies in the US and Europe. I have no idea what theyre using in singapore, but make sure it's the same kind unless the car actually can somehow function on both of them . One is on the 300mhz band and the other is on the 400 mhz band.

Not unless the car is from the US, or you take many wheelbarrows of $$ to dealer for new immobilizer unit in US frequency then buy the transmitters for more $
