Can you see the hole in the aluminum bumper? I have seen those installed upside down so the hole was on the other side of the car and didn't line up with the hole in the cover??

Only a few possibilities:

1. The threads in the tow hook hole are stripped...badly
2. Teh threads on the hook itself are fubar, but you should be able to see that
3. The tow hook is the wrong size or thread pitch (although the second is not real likely as that would make it hard to thread and not free).

My guess, wrong size part most likely, busted up hole threads next.

Did you speak with rennline?

Do you have your factory toe hook behind your spare tire? Mesh the factory hook's threads end to end with the rennline hook and that should tell you if you ordered the right size/pitch/etc
