Default Has anyone removed their A/C unit from the dash?

I've removed my dash and am about to remove the actual A/C unit from the dash. The factory manual isnt the most detailed about where the unit actually connects to the car. Any help would be appreciated

Mine was originally in the lower console area, which I have subsequently removed. It now is above my stereo unit in the upper console. As I recall, the black trim piece can be gently pryed out as there were two push plugs in the upper portion - one on each side. After the trim piece there were 2 torx fasteners that secured the unit. It slide out and the electrical connections were on the back side. Hope that helps.

I think it was Mfletch who rebuilt a 996 after an electrical fire... if anyone knows, I'd bet it's him.

I have pulled everything BUT what's under the dash... it would be great to hear the trouble needed to go the rest of the way....
