Are 986 Boxster and 996 Carrera bumpers interchangeable?

Title says it all. I have a 2001 996 C4 and I can pick up a 97-2002 986 bumper. From what I read I believe that these are the same and fit but I just wanted to confirm here.

I have a front bumper off my 99 996 that you can have for $75. It is Iris blue with no damage other than rock chips on the paint.

The Boxster S is the same as yours but not the regular Boxster bumper. The one from Mfletch for $75 is a great deal!

Thanks for the nice offer. Im looking for an MK1 bumper though. Im trying to see if I can find one at a reasonable price. If not maybe I will check back with you.

mfletch has an mk1...unless you are referring to gt3...

Wait, I think the grill openings are different between the Carrera and Boxster front bumpers.... even the Boxster S. It would bolt on but not be an exact match. FYI

Actually you're correct, my bad! I overlooked the first 3 numbers.

Boxster S is 986 505 311 04 G2X
996 up to 01 is: 996 505 311 04 G2X
