Default Added Tablet to dash

I'm experimenting with adding my Samsung Tablet to the car. Specifically for streaming Pandora (I hate commercials) and navigation. Additionally, I might add ODBII functionality so I can easily check performance. It seemes like a good use of the "cubbyhole" space. Attached are the pictures (sorry for the quality) but it looks pretty clean. I've got the Tab tethered to my phone (for data) while I'm on the road.

It's temporary right now until I drive it around for a while. If I like it I'll get a pro install done to keep it charged. I might also talk to the accessories guys ( I work at Samsung) to see what options there are.

I admire your ingenuity, but worry that it's yet another distraction while driving.

Actually I have found it less distracting since I don't have to change the stations when commercials come on the radio so I keep my eyes on the road. The GPS seems less distracting than trying to look at paper maps as well since turn-by-turn voice directions allow me to keep my eyes on the road. I guess I would say so far it just let's me keep my eyes on the road more than before.

You know, those Germans are pretty smart folks. "The radio BELONGS at the very top of the dash, for safety" Or at least that's what I was told at the Becker factory years ago...

Who wants to stare at a screen that low, not to mention the safety factor?

It does look cool I admit. And it would be cool for passengers or traffic lights/parked. I'd rather have it in my hands though.

Dude, wow, strange i am in the middle of doing the same thing, started with a tablet but then figured to use GPS, so i bought a Magellan GPS 7" removed the cubbys, it "ALMOST" fits in there like its stock, by that i mean it goes INTO the cubby, but its popping the right trim out a bit, on tuesday we are going to adjust it, plus make a power plug behind the dash so it can be plugged in not in the lighter
