Default Coolant Tank Replaced DIY

Hello All
Replaced the coolant tank in my 99 C2 a couple of days ago, my old tank was cracked (see pics). It was not bad at all about 4hrs start to finish. This is a fairly easy DIY and you only need basic tools, I followed these instructions
http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...on-a-my99-996/
take your time getting the old tank of its place and getting the new one back into its place, you have to wiggle and turn it just right but it does come out and go in, cost for all parts $250.00 including shipping

Tank 996-106-147-56 $205.22
Level switch 997-641-503-00 $22.95 (I did break the old one getting it out)
Press in nuts 999-500-078-00 $5.90 (only needed one as the other bolt threaded into a hole in the body that was threaded)

I was hesitant at tackling this at home by myself, but here in Canada at a P-Dealer this would have been well over $1000.00 I would do it again in a hart beat, if I can help out with anything let me know

I needed to post a picture of the nice new clean tank installed!

I did mine about three years ago. Hate to brag, but it took me all of 45 minutes.

Porsche T - looks like you do not have a secondary air system - probably why it was quicker

The early cars have a smaller tank than on 2002 etc. R&R the tank on early cars is a snap, but the larger tank is a PIA.

He has a '99 just like mine. The secondary air pump is there, I just removed everything. I'm pretty quick at taking things apart; I just read the R&R instructions from Renntech a couple of times and remembered the last step on taking the tank out. I slipped the new one in just as I took the old one out so I would remember the positioning. Now when it comes to doing a valve adjustment on my BMW R1200RT, that takes me a couple of hours.
