Default x51 oil baffle WITH oil sump spacer?

I am installing the BK sump pan spacer which is pretty straightforward, I am changing to the x51 baffle at the same time and adding the oil pick-up extension.
I have all the parts sitting right here however the metal x51 baffle doesn't really fit well against the pan/central sump area spacer, there's gaps. The supplied BK spacers are not thick enough and once I clean up the old baffle and remove it's metal grommet/spacers and turn them around install them it make make up the space difference, however the x51 baffle will still not really fit well against the pan, is this normal. I realize it is suppossed to be in there high enough for the rubber parts to touch the block, but isn't that leaving the bottom very open?

I already had the parts, so I'm not out anything, but the x51 baffle may be better without a spacer, any ideas?

I just bought the X51 oil pan. The spacer costs more than the X51 oil pan. Crazy for and extra 1/2 qt of oil.

The x-51 pan wasn't design for use with a spacer was it? I certainly didn't think the extra half quart was worth the cost...

i didn't pay for wither part, they came uninstalled on my car, but since I have them I am installing them, but the x51 baffle isn't looking like it"s going to work with the spacer. So 1 or the other, but not both is what it looks like.

I would choose the X51 pan before an extra 1/2 qt of oil.

Doesn't the deeper sump created by the spacer work to keep the oil pickup submerged during cornering?

yes, as long as you add the oil pick-up extension too. So either one is an option, but which is the better option since together they don't work from I see?

This is a good question... which part is more effective when cornering hard? Hopefully someone with experience with both setups can offer some opinions.

The x51 pan and the BK spacer are "NOT" designed to work together. The BK solid spacer (if that is what you have) mates up with the OEM black plastic oil baffle.

If you have the BK open spacers stop right there as BK revised the part after they realized they were leaving an open space under the baffles for the oil to slosh around...ie worse than what came from the factory.

Yes, you want to keep the suction submerge in the oil. The spacers does that by lowering the pan and the suction (which is wrong IMO, since it lowers the profile). The X51 keeps the suction submerge by increasing the baffle walls all the way up to the engine casing... and keeps the oil in the baffles sealed against the engine using gasketed edging.

what if I lowered the pan and the pick-up, with the spacers, but used the x51 baffle with it still flush on the pan? This would have the bottom of the baffle still sealed however the top wouldn't be?

Good question indeed. I had the same question when i was looking at how the x51 pan was designed prior to installing it.

I ended up installing the x51 alone.

Here is my data point: i gained 0.5 of oil pressure on the gauge with the x51 pan alone. Now at 2.5 instead of 2.
Readings taken on the same circuit, same right hand turn, same gear, same speed, same number of laps into the session, same oil.

Hope this helps. Would be great if others can post before/after readings for the spacer setup, with / without x51....
