What is the size of the wheels that you are putting the tires on Depending on the size of the wheel, that size of tire will be accommodated on the rear of the 996 I saw a set (2) of new / unused Pirelli PZERO Rosso that size (315x30x18) on CL for $400 the pair. That is a great deal

Those are GT2 rear tires and will need 11" rims. I know they will work on a Turbo, but not exactly sure about a c4s. The other issue is that you will need to go to 235-40-18 on the front to keep the diameters close. Otherwise your PSM could act funny and you could damage your front differential.

A few use them and I've thought about it on my 19" rims. I've seen cars at the dealer recently with the 315's. Not sure if spacers are used or not. You'll be burning more rubber with the camber in the rear doing its usual thing. Anyway maybe one of the guys that races a 911 will see this and let you know how his 315's in the rear work.

The C4S comes with 11" wheels in the rear, stock size is 295/30-18. There's lots of room on the inside, so with an aftermarket wheel with larger offset (e.g. ET55 like the Victor Innsbruck -- 10mm farther in) I wouldn't see any problem. For the stock offset, not sure though azaytsev just indicated it does fit. I don't see any problem running a 315 tire on an 11" wide wheel. It's a bit wider than you need for regular street driving, but compared to what people do in autocross (e.g. 275 or even 285 on an 8" wheel), it's nothing.

I have a 2003 C4S and have the GT2 wheels, which are 18x8.5 front and 18x12 rears. I also run 315/30/18's on rear with no problems.
