The Taco Wing and Interior Design

I don't expect many replies to this post, but thought I'd post this curiosity I noticed. I couldn't find any old threads on this, so maybe I'm just crazy.
I noticed the other day that the design of the interior door handle (MKI 996) plays off some of the same design elements as the Taco Wing design, albeit the door handle is more of an upside-down wing. But considering the Taco was on the first 996 ('99 GT3), and considering it's a really artistically flowing designed wing (not just function-over-form) I think they really did intend to mirror some of those design elements thruout other parts on this "new" 996 variant of the 911.
Or, maybe I'm nuts. But I like noticing new things about my 10yr-old car, even if they might not be totally right.

The door handle does not play off the wing, it's the other way around. They designed the wing based on the door handle. There is a picture in the Porsche Museum in Germany where the 1999 door handle is on a pedestal, and the wing is being formed out of clay by the designer standing right next to it...

Clever connection Peavy, and I agree there are many very creative design elements in the 996. Let face it - this was the first truly NEW 911 in nearly 40 years. And I for one (sticking my neck out here) admire other details like the headlamps. I see a true Round Headlamp covered by a styled cover that makes for a very effective single unit including Fog and marker lamps. and the Door handles = simple functional and I assume Aero efficient as will. IMHO the 996 is the best modern interpretation of the original 901.
