Who needs these when you can go through the contortions involved with changing your spark plugs? I feel like I have been kicked by a horse! Damn, that passenger side rear plug was a real bear. To those those who pulled this off with the mufflers on my hat is off.

Yeah, I pulled the mufflers and bought the articulating spark plug socket set which made it fairly easy. Still a 3 hour job though taking your time. Better than the $400+ that dealer's want though.

Pulled mufflers, articulating socket wrench, many short and a couple of long extentions, pulled the passenger side heat shielding, and copious amounts of 4% ethanol/water solution .

First time through was an ordeal. Now that I know the strategy for each of the 6 plugs, the next time will be *easy*. As OpticalTDI notes, the time is not trivial but neither are the savings.

Yes, 60k will be easier knowing the "strategy". Glad I could catch somebody offguard with the title.

OH YEAH! I forgot to mention I put on the FisterD mufflers. What a change for the better. Drove my set over to Darin and got to talk with him for a while, then picked them up same day. Great guy, great service.

Also bought a bottle of his Top Coat surface sealant product. I think it works great and I think a great business like FDM deserves the support. They have it on their website. Check it out.

I knew I could count on a wisecrack from you!

YES it was jacked up or at least I was. Really it was all about that one plug, lack of "skills", and the fact that I am not in great shape at the moment so all the up/down to get something needed worked the abbydominals.

At the risk of being told to do a search, does anyone have advice on removing the cosmoline? Takes a lot of agressive scraping. I saw references on one search off Rennlist to use heat to melt it. Anyone tried a hairdryer or heatgun or possibly flamethrower?

so regarding "skills" - you have made a big step up in skills... BRAVO !!

regarding abbydominals - you have now done your work out.... BRAVO!!

cosmoline...believe it or not I have found WD-40 (which is basicly kerosene in a can) works pretty good, still a good amount of work..

keep in mind the cosmoline is pretecting the surfaces from salt and other corrosives, if you plan to keep it shiny, go ahead and remove what you can, otherwise...its not a bad thing to have....esp under fenderwells and nooks and crannies of the car

(there, saved you more "excersise")
