Just rolled over 40,000 this week, so I have some catch up to get to 100K.
When I traded my 1992 VW Jetta in it had 191,959 miles when I parked it at the dealer and got out. I took a pic of the reading...no idea what happened to it now that was over 10 years ago. That was a great car! Slow, no power anything, but I loved it!

The transmission is a bit dodgy on our Allroad too. It tends to slip in reverse, especially if it has been parked on a hill. I just had the fluid changed last month, and that helped a little bit. I'm afraid I'm headed towards a rebuild in the near future.

No slippage with the Allroad trans on account of it being a 6 speed manual. I did just have a clutch replaced though. Apparently this is just a little less unpleasant than repairing a Tiptronic.
As far as the 996 goes, it's running as good as new with a new engine installed at 35K or something like that.
I plan to replace the IMS bearing whenever the clutuh is done.

My 996 is at about 107K (see my avatar for the obligatory milestone pic) but my Allroad is only sitting at about 56K.

At the rate I drive, it will be 2021 before I hit 100k. I work out of the home office and travel for 3-4 weeks at a time, so between the 30 mile drive to the airport to sit for a month and working out of home, I only average 10 miles a week. Damn shame

Lucky you (having a manual trans on the Allroad). I am one that loves diving into projects (transmission swaps, engine drops, etc) but the Allroad with the 2.7T is too much for me. You have to pull the front end off and yank the entire motor + trans out.. No thanks! It has been more reliable than my 996 believe it or not. (knock on wood)
I didn't mean to give the impression that I did the clutch on my Allroad myself. The Audi Indy here in town took 13 hours and the book calls it 14. That transmission is HUGE.
If my shop and lift were done I might have tackled it, but there's no *way* l would lying on my back in my carport.
I kind of like the Audi (it's my wife's car) but as I tell people, it's no Porsche.
I find the car frustrating car to work on whereas the Porsche I find kind of pleasant.

Congrats on the milestone. Sitting at just over 81K on the Turbo. 100K will take me a few years. My '99 A4 1.8T 5Speed Quattro on the other hand just passed 150K.

My '01 Cab is sitting in my garage in NY with only 22,000 on the clock while I'm working in Puerto Rico for the next 4 years. I only get to drive it when I get home once a month. What a waste. Can't wait for retirement.
On the other hand, just ordered a new Q5 for the spouse. Won't get to drive that either or even see it.

The intermediate shaft seal isn't a big deal if you're having the clutch or RMS done. The IMS bearing is a slightly bigger deal, but many people have done it.
