Default Are 997-type Daytime Running Lights available for 996?

Recently I've seen after-market front bumpers for sale with DSL's that look similar to those used on 997's. Are these genuine Porsche parts for a 997, or are these made by a third-party? Anyone know what they cost?

There's a wiring hack that is done in the fuse box, go to this website for instructions, I did it to pass the Canadian import inspection but then removed it, but it did work and was easy

I've read all of the DSL mods. I'm talking about 997-style DSLs, not the kind that are everywhere on Ebay or in Autozone, and not doing the mod to make your parking lights work as DSL.

Similar to the ones shown here: http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...r-quality.html

I'm on the fence, but I do like the way it looks on a 997 and I like the safety factor.

Driving with your headlights on during the day would accomplish your goal and it wouldn't cost anything. What am I missing?

Wow, such emotional responses. I didn't realize these cars were sacred relics. People modify their 996's with all manner of aftermarket wings, bumpers, decals, taillights and more, but DSL's cross the line? I'm confused.

It's not a matter of "sacred relics" It's just a matter of "personal taste"
The key word is personal Just about all of the LED solutions on a 996 that I have seen look tacked on.

And yes, we are an emotional bunch

It's funny because I tend to prefer understated (stock) to heavily modified cars, even if those mods are from the factory, but the DSL's that are on all new Porsches appeal to me.

Wow, really, really nice! There is nothing that I don't love about your car, except that it's not mine.
