Yet another PSE Hack question
After getting totally lost in all the previous threads/posts, I'm at a total loss on how I want to go on this. Have stock 01 3.4 C2 mufflers. Want deeper sound with no res. Would it be best to do the bypass from the inlet pipe to the outlet pipe like the Fister D style? I think I gathered that the bypass from the corner of the muffler to the outlet on this muffler will not do a lot. I don't want a ton of extra noise but do want it to sound more "sporty". Was thinking 2" pipe. Are there any clearance issues with this mod? Might just buy the FisterD's but was trying to save a few $'s and didn't know if I would have to send my mufflers in 1st. Don't want to have a lot of down time with nice weather approaching. What is the final concensus?
If you're not a welder (and a good one), you will save money by having Fister D do the mod. Plus it will be done correctly. You don't need to remove your mufflers first. He will send you a modded set and return your core deposit once you send him your old ones.
I have the FisterD modded 3.4 cans on a 3.4l engine and they sound great!

put 3.6 cans in your 3.4 - they (for some reason) sound the best according to people who have gone before us...I bought 3.6 cans for $100 and sold my 3.4's for $75....its a PITA but worth it in the end (I thought)
As mentioned Darin will send modified 3.4 cans, then you send the ones you're taking off. I love my 3.4 cans from FisterD, no resonance, no issues, just a great sound. You'll be glad you did it.
Yep, heard a bunch of the Fister D sound clips. That is what got me wanting some. Sounds like that is the best way to go (pun intended). Will give them a call. Had e-mailed them but never got a response.
