It's the factory lip you can get from multiple places. IIRC, I think I ordered mine through RM European as they had one of the lower prices(~$70 IIRC).

I should caution you though if you are lowered, you will scrape that lip at some point for sure.

The original one was painted silver, but after one too many scrapes, I pulled it off and relaced it with the factory black. I purchased it from Sunset Porsche in Oregon. Best prices around, including shipping! I think the price was $50-$70. Check you local Pcar dealer.

I like the black over the matching paint. Easy to replace if (when) it rips off!

What are you getting next?
Debaiting between a 996TT or a 997 S. I'm leaning towards the newer NA S... kinda prefer normally aspirated 997 S over the 996 turbo. Must have the aerokit on the 997 S.

Mine has 49,000 miles on it and I gave $23,000. My car has PSSR9, GT3 sways and end links, Fabspeed intake, exhaust and chip, short shifter, motorsports oil pan, center radiator and a rear strut bar. It doesn't have litronic lights and a few other bits that your car does.

I would say I got an exceptional deal though (the previous owner is still kicking himself for selling it to me), and your price is probably pretty fair considering the lower miles and it is probably in better cosmetic shape than my car. My car has been tracked by myself and the previous owners so it has some beauty marks (track rash) that your car may not have.
NICE! Can't go wrong with Artic Silver! Always loved those OEM Sport Design wheels. Had them on an off again... should have kept them. Irrelevant for me now.

I may take my time. I have a 2002 BMW M3 Convertible to tie me over until my next P-car. Still undecided between a 996TT or a 997 S, manual coupe. Aero on the 997 S is a must. I'll keep my eye open for the right car.

Since I'm sure some of you are is interested in knowing what the prices are these days... I actually sold it for $31k. Price on autotrader was too low at $29,900. I raised the price to $31,900 and accepted an offer of $31,000.

Took it to Fred Lavery Porsche in Birmingham, they told me to list it for $35 and take $33. I thought that was a bit much for a 2000 996 with mods but they said that clean, low mileage 996s are hard to come by. Of course, that's the dealerships opinion.

I'm very pleased with the selling price.
