Remove the passenger side wiper? Install shorter wiper blade assemblies but still functional enough..?

Other then splicing in a 16-20 volt battery pack.....

 

Does anyone know what the technical differences are between the design of the 996 and 993 wiper systems? It seems that if it is simply a relay and stalk, it should be very easy to update. I was out in a "frog strangler" a couple of weeks ago and was cursing my slow 996 wipers.
