And you know this... how? Got a friend sorting out a blower job right now. It's NOT bolt on and drive without issues friendly. You need someone who knows these cars and knows charging to do it right. His client went through three people before he found my friend. You need someone who knows exactly what to do and won't spend hours and $ changing things hoping to hit on the solution. Just saying. Properly set up and Motronic's re-mapped and they pull all day in any range as if they were a tractor on wild drugs. Slap stuff on from a kit and 'hope' it goes well is the sad default setting for most of these 'projects'.

The install is 100% bolt on and completely reversible. Its a KIT..... fully specked out with a custom flash. Yes, you need a good installer that has done a few of them. Out of the box they drive w/o issues (including cells). Yes, you can tune them further for more power, playing with resistor values, play with pulleys, add catch cans to make them cleaner.... etc, but no tuner will sell a kit that will trigger a cell. Most likely, in the ebay ad is emissions related and not the actual SC setup. Yes, I would be curious what the codes triggered the cell. But, Im betting its emmissions. Yes, Ive installed a couple, including my own... and is tweaked nicely.

Did the flashed chip come with the kit or was that extra Fred? Don't know the kit brand that this guy showed up to my friends shop with but the replacement pulley I wouldn't put on a kids wagon. Looked ebayish to me - that got junked fast.

The ebay kit is an older EVO/VF Engineering/GIAC (EVO did the piping and mount, VF spec the blower, GIAC tuning..... most of the issues with the setup has always been with installation. Pics of your friends car as I can probable indentify it.... as for your friends car, just go to an authorized GIAC dealer, they will flash it for you.

The flash for my kit is by GIAC... came with the setup.
