I did the same on my honda; however, I removed the paint because it became very dull over time. You might be able to buff yours since they're clear coated (in order to bring back the gloss). I ended up having a tint shop apply red film instead.

if you think back to the days when cars only had red taillights the blinkers were red... its legal... fronts however need to be amber
and do the back up lights do anything at all other than alert other people you are backing up? I doubt you would ever get a ticket for that? Might not be the safest from the perspective of avoiding being hit while backing up

Ah, the ignorance of the law excuse
Seriously though. My question is serious in wanting to know if turn signal marker are required to be yellow and reverse white.

The backup lights are still very bright, but with a red cast. I started to notice how many cars out there have all red tail lights. Take notice there's more than you realize and thats from the factory.
The clear coat gave them a nice high gloss finish and I applied about a dozen coats of wax today so they are smooth as glass. We'll see how they hold up.
I did not like the look of the factory lights and I just don't have $350-$500 to blow on new tail lights. I thought I'd just share an inexpensive solution with you guys.
I'm still stuck with these, can't afford to buy new ones...any other suggestions?
