Went over to Darin"s shop last week to have them installed on my, new to me, "04 C2 Cab. What a difference this mod makes. Now it sounds like it should. Lots of growl with throttle but quiet, like stock, when cruising. Very much worth it. Also, Darin was great to work with. Was ready for me when I arrived a little early and had it in within an hour. Great to do business with a real enthusiast and good mechanic.

Sonoma - thanks for the review. Exactly what I thought when I drove a 996 cab with the mufflers.
Unfortunately I can't just go over to Darin's and must patiently wait on UPS. Funny thing, I grew up in Lafayette and Concord!

Arrived yesterday and installed today. Work was a pain as the old brackets and bolts were very rusty (my car is originally from the northeast). Lots of heating and cutting. Cost 2 hours of labor and some replacement parts.
And?????
They sound bloody stunning. Great noise just when you want it. Can't wait to get the car out on the road with the windows down. Or find a long tunnel. Anyone with a 996 should get these. No question.

Based on my readings here, I just placed an order for the Fister upgrade...I guess I'll just have to watch the youtube videos while I wait!
Curious, what was the turnaround time on your order? I'm thinking it's longer that I imagine!

So it is a bit of a crap shoot. Of course you can pull yours off and send to him for a much faster turnaround. While impatient, I did not go that route. I just wanted the new mufflers for spring - and a PCA event I am doing later in April in the mountains of WV. Tunnels!
I actually went out in the garage late last night and revved the engine for a while. Just sounds awesome... and the way it should have originally.

Get started by taking the day off, jacking the car up and remove the old mufflers, this way you won't have to wait as long to wake up the meighbors after the Fister D's arrive.

Be warned! Fister D mufflers will have an immediate negative impact on gas mileage... You just can't help blipping the throttle and giving it extra gas at every opportunity just to hear that sound.
A price I will happily pay.

Finally warm enough here to drive with the windows down, so I (along with everyone else) finally got to experience my Fisters at full song in the local tunnel yesterday.
It was GLORIOUS.

The PSE mechanism is pretty much where the Fister-D by-pass pipe is going to be located, so...............
