Default I Cant Decide 2011 GTS - OR 2012 carrera.. - OR 2003 Carrera 4

Hi Everyone..
Now i have a 2003 year 911 cabriolet carrera 4 p car.
This cars price is 65.000 EURO.

And there is new car in the porsche shop.
there is an 2011 Carrera GTS 410 HP
Sport Exhaust , Bose , Sport Plus , Big black wheels and someting..
This cars price is now 190.000 EURO.

I am thinking if porsche take my 2003 car and we make a good deal .
maybe i can sell my car to 65000 euro and i give 115.000 euro more.
and i can buy 2011 gts

But there is a problem. you know 2012 new year of the model porsche.
what do you think. ı know i can wait but the new models of porsche is very exppensive like 250.000 euro i think in the future.

gts is cheap now and they can take my porsche too. so i give my porsche and give 115.000 euro. and new gts.

but what do you think .are new style so different or not .
can ı but . or can ı wait. what will you say to me suggestion about gts.

GTS. The new 2012 will be larger, heavier, and more of a GT.

All the new 911 versions will have to meet new European fuel efficiency and noise regulations. Newer is not always better. You can save a lot of money by learning the different engines that are put into these cars and buy accordingly. Current GTS models have the 9A1 engines which came out in 2009 models but is beefed up with X51 package to make it more powerful.

If you want to go up to the new model, I would shop around for a 2009 or 2010. No one outside of hardcore porsche fans would even know the difference between the 911 models during the past 20 years. They only know it as a 911. If you seriously want to drop money into a new car, I would look for something like a GT3RS that will hold its value better than a regular carrera and it will be more rare.

I love the GTS. I'd wait until the new model is available(it's a 991 not a 998 BTW) and then get the GTS. There will definitely be a price drop.

Whatever you buy will be older next year, what's the difference. Read the article about the GTS in Total 911, issue 73.

Maybe not a very popular philosophy around here but:

I always thought and felt enjoyment from owning expensive and extravagent posessions was in direct proportion to the time and sweat it took to finally acheive ownership.

Sounds like the most difficult thing here is how to drop a big wad and be satisfyed after the purchase. No matter what you buy, in a few months, you'll just have an old car. There will always be better, faster, prettier, more awsome crap out there trolling for your $$$. Don't know if you'll ever be happy with a car until the one you get is a result of the fruits of your labor.

Not trying to sound cruel, but that's the reality. GL!

As soon as you buy a new one, something better will come along. It's old as soon as you drive it off the lot.

The question you have to ask yourself is: Why do I own a Porsche? Is it for driving enjoyment? Is it for show? Are you trying to impress people? Are you a speed freak? Think about it a little bit. The 911 you have is a wonderful high-performance car. Most people who don't know Porsches (most of the world's population) don't know the difference between a 996 and a 997. You won't impress them with a 997 or 991 any more than a 996. If you want more speed, then maybe you should buy a turbo.

It's your decision... but I think you should save your cash and enjoy the Porsche you already own. If you decide to purchase a new one, then I'd go with the GTS. They are sweet.

I would not buy a new Porsche with the DFI engine (2010+) until the intake valve fouling problem is solved. I suspect that will be done via adding 1 or 2 throttle body injectors for use in idle or low engine loading mode. Actually if I am of the correct understanding full DFI is only needed for WOT conditions, FULL cylinder charging.

My guess is that's why the Lexus GS series uses both SFI and DFI.

If you buy a 991, it will be an old model in 10 to 12 months.

The 991 will be previewed in September.

Not necessarily true. It will have a 4" longer wheel base, but the overall dimensions will be similar to the 997.2. There have been "reports" that it will be lighter that the 997.2. HOwever, it may be more more of a GT car versus teh 997.2.
