Thanks, so you mean you pushed up and down in a benchpress type of motion, correct?

After this I figured it had to be the ball joint. While having my summer tires put on, I had the dealer look at it, they came to the same conclusion.

I might be able to squeeze some grease under the boot, but figure I'll damage the boot in the process, and not get enough in to fix it right. It would be nice if Porsche used a zerk fitting, so you could actually service the joints. It surprised me the first time I did an oil change and found out there are no grease points on the chassis.

My solution is to order a rebuildable arm from Vertex, hope to put it on this weekend.

Yep, it didn't take very much force to get some movement & for the squeaking to start. I didn't want to push from the top on the bonnet or fenders. Plus if you push from above you are not close enough to the suspension to get a good idea of where the sound is coming from.

Is there any reason I shouldn't buy the cheapest one? Anyone have any experience with one that's not branded Porsche? Thanks.

PS the dealer wanted ~$950...no thank you.
No brainer APA... you could DIY them all for less than $500
