yeah I bought my last two audis about 6-7 hours away and had them shipped. just hard for me to make this decision on my "holy grail." I am sure most of you understand the apprehension when you are contemplating your first p-car

You should at least contact the seller and talk it over. For a 5 hour drive I will be all over it. Southwest (not sure where you are) is giving deals 1 way for $131 or so I think. Or even lower if you book 2 weeks ahead.
I bought my E55 (recently sold) from a guy in SoCal. Flew down there a Thursday morning (1 way $100ish). Took me about 5.5 hours to come back north to the Bay Area. Super fun OTW back.

I'm more than happy to take the car to the dealer or an independent like Chris German in Bellevue for a PPI (which I would recommend to do for everyone who is interested).

5 hours is nothing, i searched for 2 months and couldn't even sleep, all i could think about was Porsche, i flew from AZ to LA once thinking i was buying one, turned out to be garbage had to buy another return ticket- then finally Flew from AZ to San Fran when i found a beauty & drove it back 13 hours!

Ok, can you guys give me some advise, so far I got 4 calls and 3 emails about the car, one person showed up and did a test drive, checked the car and liked it, but hasn't started a price discussion yet. Is the market really so dead or is the car overpriced at $16,900??? Here are a few pictures, let me know what you think. should I lower the price to $15,900? Here in Seattle another 996 is listed, but the car has 141k Mls and the seller is asking nearly $20,000.

That car looks nice cleaned up but he will not get that number with the miles. The problem with your car is supply and demand. There are too many C2s on the market and the economy is not supporting toy habits well. IMHO, its not the price.

Let's see, I listed the car again in Craigslist for $15,900 and also changed the price in the classified section. I don't plan to drive the too much in the next months (914 is getting ready and I have a lot of travel coming up) so instead of having it in the garage I would prefer selling it. Plan is to get a Turbo in the next 6 - 12 months!!

I don't think it's the price. You just haven't had somebody come along that's looking for a 99 in silver yet. I certainly wouldn't drop it further... I've seen the price of a car get lowered over and over with little to no interest, then relisting it at a higher price gets somebody interested quickly.
I honestly think you could get more for the car than what you're asking.
Anyway, good luck.

Your pics show me a Porsche that appears to have been taken care of, and I honestly think your price is slightly low for the condition.Be patient, there is always somebody out there looking for a 996 that hasn't been neglected or thrashed, and is willing to par $17k-18k with that mileage. GL
