New mod - aluminum bezel addition
#17
I see 20/15 actually. And the trim on all the gauges is cheap silver plastic on black. Aluminum might be a little better. I drove one for two years and always hated the gaudy styling of the car, just liked how it drove. Those just remind me very much of the styling and I like how the 996 is rather plain. It just looks more MINI than 997 to me. but to each his own.

Sorry that comment upset everyone, I just think the instrument cluster looks good how it is and was very surprised that people would be gluing pieces of aluminum to it in a rather nice vehicle.

Some words of advice from an old geezer. If someone says they're thinking about painting their car with pink and orange zebra stripes and asks what people think about it, feel free to comment. However, if someone posts a picture of their car painted that way and doesn't ask for opinions, only comment if you like it. If you hate it, close the thread and open another one. This simple advice will get you far in life

Anyone doing this mod - don't use the superglue that comes with some of the kits. Instead, use clear silicone. I used the glue and aside from it being a pain in the butt to use, it only lasted a few months. After all of the pieces fell off, I reattached them with silicone and they have been held on securely ever since.
