So, I'm looking to purchase another 996 this time a Cab and I came across this one in my home town. The question I have is there any information on why would the previous owner change to the orange colored throttle body tubing and what is the benefit?

 

No pic showing, but many have changed out to a silicone tube for better air flow.

 

I have done the same on mine, mostly for sound, possibly more air flow for slight improvement on throttle response...
