In reading the Mobil information it seems to say that Mobil Delvac 75w-90 is the correct for non-limited slip transmission, which are the vast majority of the 996 transmissions. The Mobil LS is for limited slip transmissions. So is there anything in the Porsche specs for this difference?
Their advice just compounds the problem of their darn near useless LSD. Gear oils with additives for an LSD are more slippery than stock. Porsche's LSD has a known problem with not having enough bite to it. I suggest any of you running an LSD disregard their advice. Yes, your LSD will make a bit more noise, but it may also actually work. LSD additives are a NVH thing, not a performance enhancer.
