Default Been a good weekend

Slowly getting the parts off the dining room table.
  1. Put the Summer tires back on with new rears. The Sumi's were beyond the wear bars.
  2. Changed out the back up light switch that I got for $15 off ebay. I now have REVERSE LIGHTS! The switch is on the front of the transmission (passenger side). I realized passenger side after feeling for it for 20 minutes on the driver's side.
  3. Put the RS motor mounts from Gert on. A little more rumble in the cabin but selecting gears feels soooooo good. Took an hour and the old mounts (12 years young) were still good.
  4. Mounted part of the BK-1030 harness bar. The part that bolts on to the rear strut mounts. You have to cut the carpet of the ECU cover piece to put the carpet back in. I bought a used carpet piece in order to not cut mine up. Thanks to BKJWhipple on this tip. The wife was asking me what that black thing was sitting on the table....argument ensued. I won and all is well with the world.

Summer and DE's are comin' fellas!

Sounds like a good weekend!

I wish I could put my summer tires back on... I've still got another 6 weeks or so until I can.

Put the Summer tires back on with new rears.
Put mine on too.... Of course I am about to travel for a month, so when I get back, it should be about the right time for them.

It's that time of the year for sure. I just finished taking off my bumper cap to clean my radiators. After a full fall and winter of driving every day the rads really needed it. Leaves, cigarette butts and even a chunk of styrofoam.

Topped it fof with a coat of wax, and I'm good to go....as soon as my new steering rack come in that is.

I really should have waited another week or so but..eh. It was in the 30's here in Indy today. The norm 55F. I couldn't stomach another weekend sitting on my a$$ thinking about giving the car some love. I've been in a funk and this cured it! It really felt good to to work on the car. 90K maintenance coming up.

I like the sound of upgrading to RS mounts... Where is the best place to purchase them?

Got the mounts from Carnewal. I think Suncoast has them also. Hands are a little stiff today.

Apologies for a slight hijack - I installed RS mounts on my C2 this weekend as well. Pretty straightforward, BUT, I noticed after I was finished that the exhaust tips have shifted slightly to the right. Looks like the engine may have shifted 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch during the installation process. As I said the installation was pretty simple (not necessarily easy, but simple), although I did notice that the engine would "lean" to one side or the other as I removed the old mounts in sequence (I supported the engine from the middle). Did you run into any issues with your install?
