Default 996 COILOVERS .

On my 996 I Gemballa shock absorber springs (H & R), lowering of 30 mm, I would like something lower, I saw the kit xyz, and that 'Made in the USA and as'? Better than the d2, or the k sport? The price is about $ 1000 for all.

Don't do the K sport - The feedback on them is horrible from what I've read about them. People blow the oil out of them all the time and 20K miles on them is considered 'good'. Not sure about the D2 but I think they may be related in some way such as using the same tubes and valving and are made in China and the XYZ's in Tawian. They may be dirt cheap on ebay but when you factor in the install labor and alignment every time you have a problem with them I don't believe is good value for your dollar.

Review on them here:

The review starts off good - but as he puts miles on them - then the crap starts happening and this is on a front wheel drive car with maybe 150HP at best - way different then our set up.

I'd be wary of a set of the V3's quite frankly for a 996 with our rear weight bias and and a jack of all trades shock that has the valving pressure jacked up to handle that situation. You should save up for the PSS10's quite frankly - just my 2cents. Here is a good article on shocks: http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets18.html

PSS10 should be re-valved if you will want to use them with proper stiffer springs.
you may look at this option:

and choose what of that to do.
