Default Engine vibration

So sitting at a stop light, I noticed the passenger seat (empty) shaking wildly....WTF?

So I do some different rpm tests and at idle (which is very stable on my tach) the whole car is experiencing a lot of vibration. Goes away at higher RPM.

I'm 99% sure I have a motor mount on it's way out....but I thought I would throw it up on here just in case anyone recognizes it as a symptom to a different problem...

None right? Just motor mount?

please.....

Mine also shakes... But nothing crazy.

I'll try cleaning the MAF this spring and putting some new plugs.

Rough idling is usually electrical. Main thing to check is the MAF and coil packs/plugs.

I see that with all performance cars. Mine shakes too at idle. Not a lot but you do see it happening on top of the passenger seat headrest.

I actually noticed a difference in this when it comes to weather and the quality of gas used.

Shaking seems to be part of 996 ownership...not to worry.

LOL

Well maybe I should say that my car didn't USE to shake like this. At all. It was smooth as silk before. I never noticed the headrest shake.

hmmmm, maybe all of your 996's (and mine) have an IMS that's about to implode!!!

They all do that. Just part of owning one of these cars.

You should see how it shakes with Euro gt3 seats..... Visual feedback. My X5 does this (diesel).

Mine shakes as well so would not worry too much. Annoyed me at first but now barly notice it. You can minimize it by adjusting seat angle and height.

Clearly if you do not have "the shake" something is wrong!
