Default Cigarette Lighter Busted

So I had to have my 04 C2 jumped two weeks ago - I had let it sit for a month due to the nonstop snow in the NY area. I think the guys in the parking garage tried to jump it through the lighter first (not sure, because they were messing around with the car by the time I arrived to pick it up) before finally jumping directly to the battery. Ever since, the lighter socket has not worked. I checked the fuse, and yes, it was blown. Changed the fuse, and the lighter still does not work. Any thoughts?

Thanks very much

It may have some frayed/burn't wires behind it. If they blew the fuse.

If the lighter doesn't stay in when pushed in its the spring metal. You can adjust it with a plastic piece that will fit in there for prying the metal to shape so that it's just the right tension to hold the ligther till the right heat.

The lighter stays in, so it's not the springs. GPS, etc stays in as well, just doesn't work. I'll pull it out and see if there are any wiring issues. Thanks guys.

Most likely an open circuit (burned)..... Those wires behind the socket aren't that big (compared to a jump cable). It's meant to trickle charge.... Not jump. Hacks!

Mine was dead when I bought the car. It was a fairly easy/cheap fix with a new part from Sunset.
