Default Carrera Script Replacement

Not sure if anyone is interested in this little modification, but here goes. My black 02 Cab originally came with the Carerra script in black. This just didn't look good since it was black on black. I decided to change it to the silver script as seen in the attached picture. It's not very difficult but it is a little time consuming and you must have patience.

Prior to attempting to change the script, use masking tape to mark the exact location to place the new script. Once the new script is placed on the car it can't be moved.

The old script is removed by taking thin waxed dental floss and working it under the adhesive backing found to secure the script to the car. The dental floss will not damage your paint, and once removed use "Goo Gone" to clean any adhesive that is left on your car. Once you have all the adhesive removed, place the silver script carefully in place and apply pressure. That's it!

Like it! Good tip on the dental floss. Never thought of that.

Did the old emblem leave a mark on the paint where dirt collect around the adhesive?

I just ordered a new one, primed and painted it. FYI: A heat gun at 120F takes it off in seconds.

Nice touch Chris!
(and very nice looking car....)

I wonder if the 911 script is available in silver?

Thanks for posting. I wondered how this was done, and was worried about removal of the old emblem. Still not sure if I'm going to make a change, but it's nice to know how to do it if I decide to do it.

I just swapped the grey S on my C4S for the guards red one. I have minimal mod skills and it was an easy job. The carrera script is done the same way.

Bill - I'm in Babylon if you want to meet up, I can walk you through it. Takes 10-15 minutes tops

Never had any problems using Goo Gone on several vehicles thus far. However "Goof Off" which is a similiar product was too harsh for car's paint finish.

Looks good.

I had the same situation, so my first mods were bumper plugs, door lock cover and silver script, all from Eric at bumperplugs.com.

I thought that there was a way to get any name on your badge. I could get "Divot". I think that it came from the factory.

Anyone remember?
