I'd like to remove an amplifier installed in the boot--looks factory. The amp is mounted vertically at the front of the boot on a carpeted board. It seems that the board its mounted on is then bolted/fastened through the trunk carpet and prevents removal of the carpet without first removing the board/amp. Because I could not remove the carpet I could not see how the board/amp is then mounted to the car.
Advice, tips, tricks?
Thanks.

The bracket that holds the amplifier in place has one or two 8-mm hex bolts. Easy to remove those.
I wasn't succesful, however, in unplugging the three groups of wires that connect to the amplifier. Two of the plugs are easy enough. The third may require some special tool. My amp went dead and when I decided on a replacement amp/headunit, the installer simply took a large wire cutter to it.
