C4 Front Sway Bar
I'm getting ready to swap out bars on my C4 did anyone ever put together a DIY for this? Is it true I can do the job on a C4 without fully removing the boomerang plates? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

The Porsche service manual doesn't even have a section on removing the bar. If I fully remove those plates is there any ill effect? I just replaced the front struts so the car is going to be getting aligned anyhow.

Its not that bad to do. When I put the X74 suspension on I unbolted what whatever was holding the parts in place. Its easy to unbolt...the time consuming thing is fishing the old sway out and the new in. Time consuming = 15 minutes. Don't let it scare you. Good luck.

so I did this job last night and its very easy.
First I remove the two diagnol braces
Than I removed the end link nuts followed by removing the two bolts holding the sway bar on each side.
Next I removed the front most bolt.
Than I loosened the bolt holding the control arm and swiveled the plate away from the sway bar, pulled out the bar and installed in the reverse order and torqued down the control arm bolt.
