Default Correct Tire Pressure?

I've looked at this site and found many people saying that the correct tire pressure in the cold is 36 and 44 front and rear respectively.

Then how come my BF Goodrich g-force tires say 50 psi max?

I know...it sounds like a stupid question.

Your tire has a max psi but PAG/PCNA has determined what psi works best with our cars. Different applications require different psi.

As Dell says, the max for the tire is a catch all for all applications from the tire company. The auto manufacturer makes a reco for the specific car and wheel/tire size. It should be on the inside lid of your frunk.

FYI according to the Latest TSB from Porsche regarding Tire Pressures... Correct PSI is 33F & 36R Half Load and 36F & 43R Full Load... I ran Full Load Pressure all Last Summer and my tires got Cupped because of Over Inflation... I now run Half Load PSI and Ride & Handling is much better...

The Info inside your Gas Door is Full Load Pressure

Half Load = 2 Passengers Only

Full Load = 2-4 Passengers + Luggage

Interesting. I wonder what the logic of this is, given that loading up this car relatively biases weight to the front.

Try a 6 Hour Trip to Montreal(F1) from Toronto with Two 200lb Guys in the Front and two 120lb Girls in the back with Front Trunk Full, Two Water Cases on the Back Deck and a Full 40+lb Bag on top it gets Heavy :P

No pix of teh Bags on top from the Trip but one just before the Trip

Trust me when Porsche says "Full Load" Pressure, it means what it Means

Because 50 lbs is the MAX pressure for any weight in the car

Anyway just joking around. If you dare to try putting 50 all around and flying some corners. hehehe see yah at both car and hospital body repair departments. 50 would be too stiff/slippery in turns.

I changed the tire pressure in the rear tires and my tire noise got so much better. They had too little air.
