Personally with your color I would stick with a silver or brushed finish wheel stick away from chrome or solid colors imo. First thing I would take care of on your car is that wheel gap and maybe headlight covers.
Hence the question about wheels....

What's wrong with 19's? They came with my car when I bought it, and I really like the look.
1. The suspension of the 996 is not really built for 19" wheels thereby increasing wear on components
2. Ride quality is more harsh
3. Tires are more expensive
4. I do not really like the look of 19" - although the lobster claws that you have are the best IMO.

2. No arguement here, though it only really bothersome on really worn pavement / cobblestone type surfaces.
3. Yup and there are fewer brands / models to choose from.
4. I get where you're coming from. I'm in my early 40's, and my taste in automotive styling / car mods is more conservative than if I were 20 years younger. I don't want some over-the-top pimped-out rims on my car, but there is a lot of wheel-well space to fill on a 996 and I think 19's help close the gap without looking ostentatious. I know I'm in the minority here.

^^^ another thing about 19's that really erked me was it reduced the threshold of PSM.... It was very intrusive to me. I loved the way it looked but performance was more important. As for filling out the spaces..... Sport suspension will take care of that.

have you researched the price on the innsbruck wheel? i got one quote for $1635. sounded high for me for tsw wheels... has anyone found them cheaper?
i wont pay almost $2k for tsw especially when i can get DPE wheels at cost.

I am told by my representative here in Canada, that they won't have stock or pricing until later in the spring.

1. In a brief conversation with the local suspension specialist (Truline, Seattle), who also happens to be a big P-car fan, he raised some doubt about 19" wheels causing more wear on the suspension. The gist of it was that it depending on the type driving you do, and that unless you are tracking the car, it wasn't that big a deal. But he didn't go into any real detail, so I'll need to follow up on this subject wit him.
I like the look of the lobsters on a 996!

I agree that the Lobsters are a great fit for the 996 body. The 996 has very soft, rounded lines, with virtually no straight, hard edges. So you need a wheel that has similar aesthetics or they will look out of place. The 997 sport wheels (Lobster Forks) look like they were made for the car, and for a street car, I really like the stance of the 19's.
