YOu're going to love the look I think. Most will argue 18's are better all around for performance, and they'll be right but it's hard to beat the way 19's look when they're done correctly.

I remember the look you're after from a movie I saw when we were looking to purchase our 996 Aero car. The Movie "Just Friends" with Ryan Reynolds has a scene in it with an Arena Red 996 MKI Aero car wearing 19' Ruf wheels and a lowered stance (and snow chains in this particular scene). The car was drop dead looking. I always wanted the 19" Ruf's for my car but never pulled the trigger.

p.s. H&R Springs are not too low. They worked fine on my car which was factory equipped with the M030 sport suspension. Might not work great if you have non-sport suspension and try to put them on the stock dampers. At that point you may want to look into shocks as well designed for a lowered car. Here's a profile shot of my old car when I had H&R Springs on it.

I have real Ruf 19s on my 996 (came with it, wouldn't have put 19's on it) 8.5/11.0 with 235 front and 295 rears. H&R springs. No rubbing anywhere and could easily run spacers with them....

Wow that looks AWSOME !!!!!! I pulled the trigger on the 19's. I bought as follows;
11x19 67ET w/ 295-30-19 rear
8.5x19 58ET w/ 235-35-19 front

I have installed the H&R's already. I'm thinking that the dark blue with tan interior and Artic Silver wheels will look super hot with my factory Aero kit. Now I can't wait for all the *%#@'n snow to **** off so I can put it all together. Meanwhile I'll continue with my AMG Merc project.
I'll post photos of the 996 with all the new additions as soon as I can!

Thanks a ton guys! Huge, huge help!

You should retorque all your suspension fasteners regularly now as Porsche AG does not recommend the 19 inch wheel.

I can't comment on the technical ramifications of having 2005 997 "Lobster Claw" 19's on my 2001 996, as they came with the car when I purchased it earlier this month, but the 295 / 30 19's Rear; 235 / 35 19's Front fill up the wheel wells nicely and give the car an appealing update.
