It would be nice if I could have my digital speedo in the tach instead of the temperature!!?? I dont think it takes a scientist to figure that one out Can this be changed?

well you can change it from the temperature to the odometer, trip odometer, remaining miles left on tank, mpg, etc, but not the digital speedo.

And that was in just 1st gear on Ed's Mk 1. Clearly superior to later models.

I like the speedo being smaller and to the left, it's unified w/the analog speedo, and that's where you look for speed, makes sense. Honestly though, the big numbers changing over under the tach always annoyed me like a warning light coming on each time I went from 47 to 48mph or something... Alas, Porsche has gone back and forth a number of times now w/the 997.

Hate it down there in the bottom left corner. Almost impossible to glance at when driving hard - particularly on track. The speedometer is essentially useless already with the huge increments. Really hard to understand why Porsche moved it for 02-04. It could not have been that difficult to put the computer functions in the tach.

And please, don't anyone say something like "you should be using the tach and engine sound on the track... racecars don't have speedometers... who cares how fast... yada, yada, yada..." I know all that, but this is a road car and basic info like how bloody fast you are going should not be hard to find.

I agree that the 25mph gaps in MPH makes it difficult to see at a glance what the speed actually is. Age is also effecting my eyesight too.

I've got a MK I, love the speed being in the tach window--makes it just one place I need to glance at. Sorry for piling on but I would hate it if it were over with the speedo.

Precisely! What blur...actually, my distant sight is fine, not so much up close looking at tiny hash marks on the speedo. I usually refer to the display under the tach as well.
