Default 911 Carrera GTS Raffle

Could it be that nobody wants to talk about the 2011 Carrera GTS raffle PCA is doing because it sells less tickets the less everyone is reminded? I got my 1 in 6500 chance in. Well make that 1 in 6,500,000,000 chance since the guy drawing the tickets would 9 out of ten times figure its a bogus name and toss the ticket.

Glag I'm not buying a new 911 any time soon because the options sure are confusing adding them on. The Porsche website lets you configure a car but some things don't allow other choices. Real tough work right.

Anyway the winner gets $25,000 along with the car so I figure that's some good options added on.

Yeah, but with the way Porsche prices their options that'll probably just get you a carbon fibre shift ****... LOL

I think the $25,000 will be used to pay the income taxes if you win the car!

The cash is in fact to help defray somewhat the sales taxes, license fees, etc, plus the State and Federal taxes levied in your area for winning something valued at around $100k. Options alone could possibly eat the money...
I hope you win. Just be prepared for the financial surprise when you collect.

Check out the "Build Your Porsche" on their website. It keeps track of options and adds them to the total. Then you can submit all the configuring for a car to be made and delivered.

Yah I just got my entry form last friday. I felt left out and was worried I wouldn't get a chance. Normally I don't care to loose or take chances Heck I'm starting to notice they do a good amount of raffles for cars. I guess so, its making them money. Their HQ is right next door to West Springfield where I went to H.S. with my yellow mgb. Of course this could be a Springfield police conspiracy to get me to drive their roads again

Good luck man.

I guess since there is a time line they put $50 on the tickets. 6,500 tickets bringing in $325,000. Sheeze maybe the american distributors will just raffle cars and forget retail sales from now on. Sure makes a super profit. I'm sure it funds the money sent to local porsche clubs for the monthly partys we have.

The Qatar airport had raffle tickets for a porsche and another exotic going for $500 a ticket. We are lucky with a $50 entry.

Right - $75000 car + $25000 cash = $100,000 prize
25% withholding on $100000 prize = $25000 cash

just keeps you from having to write a check for withholding and defers payment of the rest of the tax based on you actual marginal rate.

In highschool I always thought of raffling off a car each month at the mall, sell 10,000 tickets at $6 for a $45,000 car. Each month I thought I could make $15,000, which was my goal back then. I asked my dad about this back then and he said it was illegal. I wonder how porsche is able to around this?

Dad's determine what's legal and illegal
Some states have different laws governing clubs.
Some states have different laws concerning raffles.
The raffle rules state it goes by buyers own state laws like most raffles generally do.
Even though many buying tickets may be from states where raffles are illegal they still buy tickets and if they win won't say they won the car in a raffle.

Would be great if they had an online payment option...

Too much hassle.

Same thing I always think when they have these raffles. I even click around hoping for a miracle. But my most recent wish is they'd have a status of tickets sales so that you can work on your anticipation, anxiety, excitment, gambling problem or what ever you call it.

If your state does frown on raffles you can always give it to a relative in another state or move to another state or start living in another state 6 months out of the year.
