I forgot that 99s have a frunk cable so no 2nd frunk button. If the standard key head guts (post #15) can be changed into the fancy 911 covers, looks like you have to turn the board 180 degres or the blade exits 180 degrees opposite. (Marc help here pls??)
Your one button head has the alarm button in the same position as the STD head alarm button so I don't see why not.
You will just have a decorative frunk button.

That is the way I spend most of my life
.
You asked if you could buy a "911" key ( my assumption was that you wanted the pretty new key head with the "911" on it) to replace your one button key.

It looks like the cheapest way to do that is to buy a new “911” plastic head without the guts and put your working existing guts in to the “911” case.

With no pic it was not obvious which one button key head you were referring to.

Look at the pic of the standard two button key heads in post #15. The fat part of the head is where the door button is, above the blade. Your one button key head looks like it has the button in the same position as the standard two button head lock button: that is on the same end as the key blade.

Others have used the new "911" head case (empty key head case), to update the standard two button key to look like the “911” head, by installing the circuit board and "pill" from the standard two button head in to the new, improved "911" case. The new, improved case has the key blade exit from the opposite end look at post #20. If the standard key guts can be put into the “911” case and work yours should fit also.
